Globalization as well as modernization is inevitable process in nowadays world. Globalization takes place when different countries influence on each other directly or indirectly either politically, economically, or culturally. It can have both positive and negative consequences. Modernization is the engine of progress that together with globalization helps the world to move forward to new achievements.

There are a lot of examples possible to be discussed on the issue of globalization, its negative and positive impact.

One of the brightest examples can be seen in China today. Lots of factories and manufacturing units situated throughout the national territory are working for countries all over the world.

Before globalization and modernization processes, China lead mainly agrarian way of life, but it gradually came to industry and manufacturing.

Due to globalization, China in great leaps got technologies, necessary equipment and efficient production. Today the quality of China-made products meets the international standards and, moreover, is gaining higher and higher level, while the price on the products stays the same. It happens thanks to the low labor costs in China. But this can be taken both as a negative and positive effect of globalization. On the one hand, Chinese society got more working places because of the building of new manufacturing units, thus getting new working places. On the other hand, it has always been too little money and too many extra working hours for the Chinese as well as considering transfer of the factories from other countries to China. What it means to take the factory from one place to another? It means the loss of job for one and getting job for another. Certainly, it means unemployment for one of the parties. Thanks to globalization, China also developed logistics in order to meet the customers’ requirements and distribute products world-wide.

Another interesting example is India, which is one of the well-known cricket leaders today. During globalization process, cricket came to India from England, where it was born and played for several centuries. The curious thing is that the Indians became even better in the course of time in this truly English game.

Recalling the period of the British Empire rule, cricket was spread throughout the Commonwealth as well as some other kinds of sports originated in England. But unlike tennis, for example, which prefers individualism, cricket gained popularity as a team sport in India. Cricket is an effect of indirect influence of England on India during the time of the trade between England and its colonies nearly 18th century. That was the time when the history of Indian cricket began.

The majority of the effects of the cricket appearance in India are the positive ones. First of all, this event played a great role in the development of national consciousness of the Indian society. Sport always unites people not only within the country but also internationally. Thereby, cricket became a strengthener of the Commonwealth nations playing it, so it also entailed positive political impact. Of course, as a sports game, cricket is undoubtedly for those keeping healthy lifestyle, though there are much healthier kinds of sports in India such as yoga sport, for example. But cricket caught the native society’s eye, and may be a reason of its mass character, it gained such popularity. Generous money prizes in international tournaments are a positive economic factor for government as well, because of the taxes paid to the national treasury and the top positions in the world ranking make the Indian nation proud of its sport achievements.

The only negative effect of cricket globalization is that the founders of the game, the English, lost their top positions being not that good. But this was inevitable, as it is a harsh sports world.
