Buy custom Analysis of the Relationship between College Education and Student Career Development essay

The main functions of education are; to enhance the efficiency of learning, provide equality of opportunities, preparation for labor market allocation, and to bring socialization through civic engagement (Bingler, 17). Most of the educational systems are considered to bring standardization differentiation, track mobility, and vocational direction (Bingler, 21). Relating these aspects systematically makes us to understand how educational systems affect a wide range of targets in the lives of an individual. In reality, most of the institutions prepare their students for job markets rather than prepare them for a variety of interests and pursuits that would increase their satisfaction in life. Colleges should prepare their students to become critical thinkers and gain the necessary skills of solving problems encountered in the ever changing workforce (Lockheed, 11).

Purposes

I am interested in this statement because most of the students in college think that the primary importance of education is securing a job in future. With the ever changing demands in the market, the educational system in most of the colleges has never cope-up with the changes. Most of the colleges offer courses that are unrelated to the students’ careers. This would be more interesting topic as most of the students in college would acknowledge that the courses they are doing seem not to relate to their careers.

Research questions

This research is going to be guided by the following questions;

  • What are the relationships between college system of education and the student career achievement?
  • What combinations of inputs and student background are associated with student success?
  • Are the primary objectives of the students satisfied by the college educational system?

Most people have different perceptions and understanding of college education. They consider college education as a source of employment in future and not as a tool for the development of necessary skills in life. The structures of most of the colleges have been designed in such a way that it trains their students for the job market only (Merz, 27). It does not instill the necessary skills to cope up with the ever changing demands in the market. Thus, an individual should have skills and knowledge to navigate and reinvent themselves through the constant changes. Hence, college education should gather for this development of skills.

Outcomes

  1. Provision of evidence guidelines by the college educational system in student development.
